Positive: The location of the apartment was good, and the view from the porch was very nice. We met the host family when we arrived and they seemed very nice.

Negative: When we arrived, it seemed like the apartment was only partially ready. The bathroom sink and especially the kitchen area seemed only partially cleaned. There was left overs in the fridge and empty plastic bottles next to the garbage. There is only air conditioning in the bedroom and it is dripping water during the night, which creates puddles in front of the door to the kitchen and living room area. But it does cool down the room. The water in the shower is difficult to manage. Sometimes it was steaming hot even though only cold was turned on. We also noticed that sometimes the toilet would flush with steaming hot water. Other times we would only get cold water. Sometimes we had to turn the shower on and off and wait to be able to shower with reasonably temperatuered water. There is not really a beach access. There are stairs that lead down to the water near the harbor, but there is no beach. It is located further up the bay (< 5 min by car). The beach in Trou d'Eau Douce is very nice though. We could not park right in front of the apartment and had to leave our car up by the main gate. This was not really a problem except for the mangoes that fell from the tree onto the car. Communication with the hosts was not easy - we tried in English, but it was complicated. We agreed on a time for a meeting to settle all formalities the night before checking out (very early) and the host did not show up, even though we asked for confirmation of the meeting time several times. We made an effort to be at the apartment on time for said meeting, which was really annoying.
