Castillo Tambor is ideal for a holiday, weddings, birthday parties, family gatherings and private events. This villa rental includes all 7 guest rooms to sleep your group of up to 16 people.
There is a kitchen in one of the bungalows that can be used by guests. The main kitchen if for the restaurant only.
Meal packages are also available that can be customized if vegetarian, vegan or special requests. Meal packages are also available, deliciously prepared by our private chefs. You also have the option to choose from our a la carte restaurant menu.
This is a unique stone villa nestled within the jungle a few steps from the beach. All rooms have new mattresses, pillows, and soft linens. All rooms have a private bathroom, TV and air conditioning. A safe is available in every room within the main building, but not in the 4 guest rooms of the detached bungalow.
Regarding stairs, there are 3 guest rooms in the tower (one room on each of 3 levels). Remainder of rooms are on ground level. There is no elevator.

The pool is the ideal place to relax and enjoy a cocktail after a day at the beach.
We provide competitive rates for shuttle services from Liberia and San Jose Airports, or ferry.
Rental of a car is recommended. (Attractions, other restaurants, and groceries are available in this rural area, but not within walking distance.). We can arrange for your tours if you wish to explore the area (Tortuga island tours, bioluminescence, ATV tours, fishing, etc.).
Distance perspectives: There is a restaurant & bar in this hotel, and also a lovely public restaurant & bar in nearby Tango Mar Beachfront Hotel (1.2 mi / 2 km). Other restaurants, bars, and a small grocery store in nearby town of Tambor (3 mi / 4.8 km). Larger grocery store in town of Cobano (7 mi / 11 km).
Beaches: Waterfront closest to this hotel is at Tango Mar (0.6 mi / 1 km). It is beautifully scenic for relaxing on the shore, with a mix of sandy and volcanic rocky areas, but too rugged for swimming. The nearby Tambor Beach Puntarenas (5.5 mi / 9 km) is sandy and of a gradual depth, good for swimming including young children. Major beaches in popular tourist towns: Montezuma (8 mi / 13 km), and Santa Teresa (16 mi / 26) km.
The local adventure company, Pura Vida Expeditions CR, offers tours of Tortuga island with dolphin and whale watching, fishing, zip lining, bioluminescence, sunset tours at playa Los Vivos, ATVs, horseback riding; visit Curu national park and playa Quesera with its beautiful white sand beach and crystal water, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Their office is located at nearby Tambor Tropical Beach Resort (3 mi / 5 km, with shuttle service).
