Summary: We really enjoyed staying here. After booking primarily at traditional hotels through Costa Rica during our vacation, we thought it would be cool to try something different. Estrellas is more of a small boutique BnB with amazing views, deep in the Samara hills. Be prepared, I highly advise having a 4x4, we made the mistake of booking a sedan on our trip and deeply regretted it. Driving up to this lodge is a tad tricky, but would have been so much easier with a better vehicle. Nathan was great and provided us with good beach and kayak ideas, as well as fantastic breakfasts. He even had a friend pick up our dinner one night. I really admire what they’ve built up there in the hills above Samara, and I think it’s worth checking out on your trip. Side note, we also really liked the Samara area, it might have been our favorite on our trip.
