Located near a plethora of shopping and restaurants as well as highways that can carry you throughout the Twin Cities metro, this brand-new space was renovated with guests in mind. You will have private entry into the lower-level guest space that includes two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The living area includes a comfortable sitting area with a gas fireplace, and guests can cook comfortably in the kitchen that was thoroughly equipped by someone who loves to cook!
I meticulously consider what might help guests feel at ease when staying. From sparkling clean soft sheets and great pillows to all the implements you might need to cook your favorite meal in the kitchen, I want your stay to be exceptionally comfortable.
The full kitchen includes a stove, microwave, dishwasher, and a refrigerator/freezer which includes a filtered water pitcher and a supply of ice. A starter supply of coffee and tea are provided, as are both a Keurig coffeemaker and a traditional coffeemaker. The kitchen has been thoroughly equipped by someone who loves to cook and bake, and there are additional convenience items such as an air fryer, slow cooker, Instant Pot, Kitchen Aid mixer, and more stored in the laundry room which is adjacent to the guest entry.
There are two bedrooms: The primary has a queen-sized bed with two closets and lots of built-in shelves and drawers. The second has a full-sized murphy bed and can easily be used as a dedicated office if only one guest is staying.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion are provided. The bathroom also has a supply of cotton swabs, cotton balls, and disposable makeup remover towelettes, as well as dark wash cloths for makeup removal. Extra towels are located in the bathroom closet. Forget something? There is also a selection of extra toiletry basics available.
Laundry facilities are located next to the guest unit and are shared with the homeowner. A starter supply of laundry products is provided.
Guests enter through a shared back door and proceed down the stairs to another secured door dedicated to the guest space. Guests do not enter the homeowner's living space in order to access the guest suite.
Off-street parking space is available for one vehicle; garage parking is also available for one mid-size vehicle. There is plenty of space in the secure garage for storing guests' bicycle, golf clubs, skis, or other outdoor equipment that might accompany you on your trip to the Twin Cities.
In the warmer months, there is comfortable patio furniture on the backyard patio on which to lounge when the weather is nice.
The location provides very easy access to multiple highways, and the local city streets are easy to navigate. I’m happy to offer a driving tour of the neighborhood and surrounding area as you settle in.
I live onsite, so if there is anything special I can do to prepare for your stay, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to accommodate. For example, I am usually glad to accept delivery orders in advance of your check-in. Similarly, if you are planning a celebration and wish to order something special from a local spot, I may be able to provide pick-up. ABOUT THE HOST: I work full-time as a clinical social worker (therapist in private practice) and most of the time work from an office in South Minneapolis. My dog is a therapy animal who accompanies me to my office. When we are home, we are very quiet overall.
I am a semi-introvert in a very extroverted profession, so I tend to keep to myself during the week so I can recharge after work. I enjoy getting to know guests when they are also interested in this, and I am very respectful of others' needs for space and quiet if they prefer privacy and minimal interaction.
We will share common areas such as the back yard and laundry, and I'm happy to coordinate timing of use of the spaces if you have particular scheduling needs.
UTILITIES: All utilities are included, including high-speed wireless internet and cable television.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT CEILING HEIGHT: While the majority of the space has a ceiling height of 6'6" (78 in/198 cm), there are some points where it is lower (in the entryway outside the guest suite and in the main bedroom). The height of the lowest ceiling point is 6'1" (73 in/182 cm).
CHILDREN: The guest suite is well-suited for up to 3-4 adults (one queen bed and one full bed), but is not outfitted for children. Items such as travel crib, high chair, toys, etc. are NOT provided.
NON-SMOKING PROPERTY: Smoking and vaping are NOT permitted anywhere on the property. The entire residence and property are smoke-free due to allergies.
DOG ON PROPERTY: There is a resident dog (60 pounds) living in the host's living space and sharing the yard. She is generally allowed in the yard only with pet parent supervision when guests are here unless the guest makes it clear they are comfortable spending unaccompanied time with her after meeting her. She is allowed in the yard (with supervision) when the host is outside unless a guest specifically requests otherwise.
