Positive: Mario, our host, was incredibly helpful & has a great sense of humour. He graciously met us, gave us a full tour of the apartment & excellent information on local hiking. The apartment is very clean & wonderful. It’s big with a lot of attention to detail. The kitchen is very well equipped. Everything you could need. The main bedroom has a huge sliding door with a balcony - great for nightime breezes (it’s on the 2nd floor across from the police station with views into the mountains). It has built-in wood wardrobes - very elegant. The second bedroom (2 twin beds) also has large windows with views. The beds are comfortable with lots of pillows. The washroom is also fully equipped with soap, shampoo, bath matt, towels & lots of hot water. Wifi is good. The spacious living area has a selection of local maps & guides. There is a laundry as well as an amazing roof patio. It’s huge! It has a covered area with a mini-kitchen, comfortable couches & coffee tables & even a washroom with panoramic views. Vilcabamba is nestled in the mountains so you can see both the town as well as the mountains all around. There is on-site, secure parking. Every detail has been addressed - there’s even a first aide cabinet in the apartment as well as a USB charging cord, in case you forgot. It doesn’t get any better!
