Positive: I stayed at Ngetis Villa for seven days, and it was an experience I’ll genuinely never forget. This was my first time in Bali, and I travelled from Melbourne, Australia, not really knowing what to expect – but this place absolutely reset me in the best possible way. I was actually the first guest to ever stay here, with the villa only just completed and nearly brand new. You can feel that freshness straight away – but more than that, you can feel the care, intention, and love that’s been poured into every single inch of the property. The villa itself is honestly so cool it’s almost hard to describe. It’s beautiful without trying too hard. The attention to detail, especially in the landscaping, is next level – nothing feels random or rushed. Every plant, pathway, light, and water feature feels considered. It doesn’t feel like a commercial stay – it feels personal. What really hit me was how much this place felt like an escape from my normal life. It’s worlds away from a high-rise apartment in Melbourne. Being surrounded by jungle, quiet, nature, and space was exactly what I didn’t realise I needed. It felt like stepping into a completely different reality – calm, slow, grounded. The view is incredible at all hours of the day. Morning light, sunset, and even the middle of the night were special. At night, the outdoor lighting comes on, the pool fountain starts flowing, and there’s a beautifully lit decorative tree glowing in the distance. Sitting out there late at night was genuinely peaceful in a way I haven’t experienced before. I always felt safe and comfortable during my stay. Knowing the owners were just around the corner if I needed anything gave a huge sense of ease, without ever feeling intrusive. Just outside the villa is a beautiful koi-style pond, with food provided and a seat positioned perfectly so you can sit and watch them. It became a little daily ritual for me – slow, quiet moments that made the stay feel special.

Negative: A few handy notes before you go: • Cameras (external): I didn’t want them turned off as they added a sense of safety. The owners were also very respectful and offered to turn them off straight away if I felt uncomfortable, which I appreciated. However, they could be repositioned to face away from the pool and villa itself. • Mini bar: Check snack and drink prices before helping yourself or you may be paying Aussie pricing at checkout. • Cabs: Be polite but firm on pricing with local drivers – some drivers will see how far they can push. Someone quoted me 700K for a half day. • Location: It’s reasonably remote – about 30 minutes from central Ubud. Expect fewer people around and occasional delays with transport. I don’t mind because I wanted a true escape. • Privacy note: My name, phone number, length of stay, and a screenshot of my boarding pass were shared publicly by the owner – I assume completely innocently – but it’s worth clarifying privacy expectations upfront if that matters to you. They respectfully removed them apparently when I mentioned this however I had already been contacted directly by various scammers. Nothing major – just small things to be aware of so you can fully relax and enjoy the stay, or address expectations upfront. Other than these - no notes: 10/10 and absolutely perfect above expectations. You’re truly treated like royalty here. I will be back again and again.
