The Garden House is a four/five-bedroomed villa with pool and full staff. It is located near the coast at Habaraduwa. The main house sleeps up to eight in four double bedrooms plus there is a studio cottage in the grounds which can sleep a further two.
The large landscaped garden which gives the villa its name, is the star of the show whether you are relaxing on the huge shady veranda, taking a dip in the pool or sunbathing on the deck you will always be immersed in nature.
The Garden House is a carefully renovated 1870s planter’s house which has won awards for its design. It provides welcoming retreat which is luxurious yet informal. The emphasis is on relaxation with discrete but attentive service.
The Garden House features four ensuite double rooms and a separate self-contained Garden Cottage, all designed to combine style with comfort. The balconies and private terraces offer panoramic views of the surrounding paddy fields.
Each room is furnished with a mixture of antique and modern items, and has king sized, four poster beds with cooling overhead fans. The floors are in cool, polished cement or are made from original Sri Lankan Jackwood boards and the high vaulted ceilings give a wonderful sense of space and light.
Upstairs the villa has a Master Bedroom and two further double rooms. All three upstairs rooms have four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets and cooling ceiling fans. The fourth double room, situated on the ground floor, is air conditioned.
The Cottage in the garden is a self-contained studio apartment accommodating a further two guests which is included in the rental.
Outside is a lush one and a half acre tropical garden with a large infinity pool overlooking vibrant green paddy fields. There are sun loungers around the pool and a hammock for lazy afternoons.
The Garden House is ideal for a family get together, a group of friends or any special events. It is also excellent for families with small children who love running around and playing safely in the beautiful garden.
